Electro Boy - How It All Began

Alex Smith was just an ordinary boy until one day something extraordinary happened. It all began when Alex was coming home from school with his big brother Jack.

“Do you want to play dare?” asked Jack.

“You bet!” shouted Alex

“You can go first,” said Jack.

Alex thought hard about his dare and as he passed a dark street with a bin he had an idea. “Go and jump in that bin,” he said “and swim around in the rubbish.”

“All right.” But when he got to the bin there was no rubbish in it.

“Oh no, what a waste of a dare” moaned Alex.

Next it was Jacks dare. He looked around carefully and there was two tall dark buildings in front of him. Then he spotted a low balcony with ladders hanging down on one of the buildings.

“I dare you to climb those ladders and see how high you can get,” dared Jack.

Alex was scared about doing this but he didn’t want Jack to think he was a coward so he agreed.

Climbing the ladders was a hard job but Alex managed to climb up to the balcony.

“Climb higher!” shouted Jack.

Alex climbed to a higher balcony; this one had a generator on it.

“Climb higher!” shouted Jack for the second time.

Alex found that the ladder stopped there but he was determined to climb one more floor. He had just noticed a wire out the corner of his eye, just on top of the generator. Alex jumped up on top of the generator and started to climb the wire. When Alex was half way up the wire he heard a shout from below.

“I‘m leaving you there!” shouted Jack.

Just after Jack had run away Alex felt electricity all over his body and then suddenly, he was falling down fast through the air.

Alex woke with a startled cry, he felt weird, “Where am I?” he asked himself, then he remembered the dare. The sky looked dim so Alex looked at his watch, “Oh no,” he said “I’ve only got five minutes till tea.” When Alex got home his parents were worried because he was fifteen minutes late so he got sent to bed early.

When Alex switched off his bedroom lamp his fingers stuck to the switch, he felt fidgety so he stood up, then amazingly electric bolts started coming out of his fingertips. He had become Electro Boy. An electric super hero!...
