Worms!
by Sophie, age 6.

Worms worms everywhere,
under the flowers
and under the chairs.
S
lipping and sliding
around on the ground,
just how many worms
can you see and count?

There's one in the soil
where he spends the day
munching a big leaf
someone threw his way.

Look in the plant pot
and there you will see
two shimmering worms
enjoying their tea!

Down by the fish pond
under the moons light
are three little worms
who just said goodnight!

Down dance the raindrops
beating on the ground!
Four worms wiggle out
and move to the sound!

On the lush green lawn
five goal scoring worms!
Shooting penalties,
each one takes a turn!

Six is the number
of worms to be found
if you get your spade
and dig underground!

Look by the poppies
h
ow many to see?
five, six or seven,
count along with me....

Sitting in a row
on the garden gate
All smiling brightly
How many worms?... Eight!!

Under the sprinklers
Nine worms can be seen
scrubbing with soap 'til
they're nice and clean.

Down at the farmyard
is Peggy the hen
Her best friends are worms
can you count all ten?
