The Ring of Teleportation & Time (written by children from Hounslow Manor School, Lampton School, Chiswick Community School, Brentford School for Girls, Feltham Community College, and Isleworth & Syon School for Boys as part of the Brentford RTG BIG READ 2006)

On one Christmas winter day everyone was opening presents and having nice Christmas food, except one boy called Tony. He was a tall 15 year old young man, who was miserable because he overheard his mother and father's row. Eventually the row ended with Tony's mother Barbara wanting a divorce. Tony couldn't take it anymore and packed his bags and went to his local orphanage and slept there!

He woke the next morning and found a fur bag next to him. He was going to throw it out of the window when he saw a glow inside it. He found a small red box glowing inside the bag. Tony opened the box and found a ring with a tiny watch with time all over the world. Tony was astonished by the anonymous present. He put the ring on his middle finger. Then wished he was at his nana's house just in time to have scones and watch Countdown. The ring glowed and Tony's eyes glowed white like Storm on X men.

Suddenly Tony's eyes stopped glowing and went back to green, He looked around and was astonished to see he was in his grandma's bedroom. He had some big ideas for this ring.

He looked down at the ring and thought of his parents' row. The ring brought him back to his house and he saw his parents saying sorry to each other and kissing!

Next, he decided to go back to the Time of the Dinosaurs. He thought that he could go back to the Cretaceous Period, the time when dinosaurs were about to become extinct. He thought carefully and found that he was in a vast forest.

He walked forwards and suddenly heard a roar! He looked around and saw a giant black Tyrannosaurus running after him! He ran as fast as he could towards a big mound of dirt. He saw big white lumps protruding from the mound; they were eggs! He stopped and saw his mother coming closer to him. She started shaking him and then he realised that it was a dream.

After his mum left the room, he laughed at what he had seen in his dream. Suddenly, his trouser pocket started vibrating. Then he looked in it and saw the ring. Blood came from his hand, he thought it was his ring so he dropped it, but his hand was still bleeding. His hand dropped off, a bone came out of his wrist. Then a white light came out of his body and he dropped to the ground as both his legs fell off. The ring went back into the box and then it disappeared.
