Gold Star

Chapter 1: The Star!

Over the sky in a deep, deep sleep where the moon shone and was amazingly bright, there was a little couple together on the grass and they were looking up to the sky. Their names were Zoe and Alex.

“Why is the moon so gleaming bright?” asked Zoe, after all she was only 8 but she would be 9 in October which was in 8 months. “I do not know why Zoe”. Alex spoke, his words sounded like a hummingbird warmly coming home from winter.

Suddenly, Zoe noticed something shiny in the sky. “What’s that in the sky?” she asked. Alex replied to her, “I do not know. Do you mean that glowing thing?”. “Yes. What is it?” Zoe requested giddily.

“It’s a…GOLD STAR!” Alex said. Zoe stared in astonishment. “Oh WOW!!!” Zoe shouted jumpily.

The star got closer and closer until it was a shooting golden star! “Kids come quick! The star is falling out of nowhere. NOW!” their Mum screamed from their home, through the field.

“Come on Zoe we need to solve this problem.” Alex said thoughtfully.

“But, Mummy!” Zoe whispered worriedly.

“OK OK OK.” Alex hesitated “You go home - tell mum and dad that I ran away.” Zoe didn’t need telling twice so off she went, crying her eyes out.

“Oh, thank God you are safe! I was so worried! I could just…hang on a minute, there’s only one of you. Where did Alex go?” Zoe’s mum asked anxiously.

“HE RAN AWAY!” Zoe wept sadly.

“Why would he do a thing like that?” Zoe’s dad said shakily.

Meanwhile, Alex walked on and on into the forest determined to see where the star had fallen. “When am I going to find it?” Alex wondered. Suddenly he gasped, on the ground he saw an object. It was the GOLD STAR!!! “WOW it looks even better than before!”

“Come closer” someone whispered from not far away.

“Wh…wh…who’s there?” Alex trembled glancing around courteously.

“It’s me, the…STAR!”

“Alex, you’re safe here ride on my back to travel in time!” said a dragon who appeared from nowhere. “My name is Saphira and I will help you become a WARRIOR!” Now I’m not forcing you to BUT you can if you’re up for it.” He explained to Alex, “well, are ya?”

“I’m not quite sure yet. I have a birthday coming up and Christmas and even a funeral to go to. I can not miss all that!” Alex whimpered.

“Ha ha ha. I knew that you’d say that. Moreover, when you go back in time with ME, time in the future will not change” Saphira added. Back in their home everyone sat around the roaring fire. They patiently waited for Alex but at that moment they suddenly froze.

Chapter 2: The Adventure

“Wahoo, I’ve NEVER been back in TIME before!” Alex cried.

“It’s great isn’t it” Saphira cried, happy to be home.

“Saphira” Alex asked.

“Mmm, yes”. Saphira, who was delighted to be back, replied.

“Why am I here?” Alex wondered.

Saphira opened one eye and spoke. “Alex my dear, I don’t know HOW I’m gonna say this but, you have to be a dragon guest with me”.

“b…b…b…bu…but, I don’t want to!” said Alex.

Chapter 3: The Nigh’s Battle

“Charge!” A voice came from a far off distance.

“Quick, get on my back! We’ll glide out of this!” Saphira glided, up, up, up…into the air, out in the world up high.

They slept in the warm leaves of a deep forest until dawn. When Nigh was due, they woke up and found themselves in a battle arena actually with the king!

“Get up Saphira, or are you too weak to fight the mighty old king Minos, ha ha ha ha!” The king said. His voice was as mean as a snake.

“You will have to choose out of these two options. You can either: 1. Give up your lives or 2. Fight the one and only MINOTAUR!!! Ha ha ha!”. He said in his evil laughing voice.

“I go for….number 2” Saphira answered the question.

“Let that be. Bring in the MINOTAUR!!!!” the king requested. The guards did as he said. Whilst they did it, they had a big grin on their face.

“Roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!” A sudden noise came from the massive archway. In the far end of the corner, Saphira was pulled out into the arena followed by Alex in his very own suit of body protect with a heavily steal sword, a gold dagger and a light and feathery head piece.

Fire came out of the mighty dragon! And guess what happened next? Yes, of course, it was blown out like a spark!

“You are in fact stronger than I thought you were” said Minos. “Drat!”

Chapter 4

“Alex, Alex, Alex wake up! It's time to pick blackberries”. Zoe was whispering and shaking him to wake him up. “C’mon Alex”. Alex was shivering.

“Mum!” Zoe shouted.

“What?” Mum answered.

He’s waking up…!” Zoe said.
