1. RIF wants every child to believe in the value of books
and the importance of reading.
2. RIF helps people to run local projects that provide
children and their families with the fundamental resources
children need to become motivated to read.
With these principles in mind, RIF projects always:
provide books for children to explore and keep
include every child in the group - no child should
feel left out
ensure each child can choose which book to keep for
themselves
use imaginative activities to spark a child's desire
to read.
RIF respects local knowledge when it comes to selecting
which motivational activities to introduce, which children
to serve, the range of books the children can choose from,
and which segments of the community to involve in their
activities.
