Reading Is Fundamental, UK
Promoting book choice, ownership and the fun of reading

Case study: UBS

Leading financial services firm, UBS, has pledged further support for RIF projects for the next three years (2006-09), following a successful three year partnership with RIF in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney libraries.

The new grant from UBS enabled RIF to set up additional projects in Lambeth, Southwark and Newcastle in 2006-7, supporting pre-school children and their families either in libraries or early years settings, as well as several new school-based projects in Hackney and Lambeth. Children and parents have enjoyed attending events celebrating the benefits of sharing books together at home. Children chose a free book at each event, and UBS volunteers attended to help out whenever possible.
